Review & Swatches ♡ Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick in Vouvray

I don't usually write up an entire blog post for one specific shade of lipstick, but I HAD to make an exception for this one! The lipstick of choice, is the Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick in Vouvray.

This lipstick is described as "A lush, long-lasting, moisture-rich lip color" that "delivers super antioxidant resveratrol, which fights free radicals with potent long-term antiaging benefits. Each lipstick contains the amount of resveratrol found in five glasses of red wine."

Bite Beauty are a natural lip care company, which pride themselves on creating lip products that are healthy enough to eat. This lipstick is formulated without parabens, sulfates, phthalates, synthetics, polybutenes, and petroleum byproducts, meaning that you don't have to be worried about accidentally eating some of the lipstick off your lips!

The packaging of the Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipsticks is gorgeous. The lipstick is housed in a rubberised, matte charcoal coloured tube, which is akin to NARS packaging. The angle of the top of the tube varies depending on the shade chosen; reds have a sharp angled tip, neutrals have a natural slant, pinks are curved, and berries have a point.

Bite Beauty describes Vouvray as a "ballet pink" shade. In my eyes, it is a wearable neutral pink, which is my perfect everyday shade. In terms of the formula, it is creamy, pigmented, and glides onto the lips beautifully with a lightweight texture. For a creamy lipstick, it lasts a good couple of hours, and as it fades, it does so evenly. It has a light, pleasant fragrance, that isn't noticeable post application.

The Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipsticks retail for $24.00 USD, and at this stage, are quite difficult to purchase here in Australia. I won mine in one of Shaaanxo's giveaways, but Bite Beauty can be purchased from Sephora and shipped to Australia with the use of a forwarding company. For those who live in Sydney, I believe that this lipstick may be available for purchase in the Sephora Sydney store.

Overall, I absolutely love this lipstick! It is my perfect every day shade, and the formula is fantastic! To be honest, it is probably my most favourite pink lipstick that I currently own.

Review & Swatches ♡ Essence April 2015 Range Update

Essence are soon to be releasing a number of new products to their range, just in time for the autumn/winter season here in Australia. The following products, as well as number of others, will be on sale from the 6th of April 2015. Most of these products follow the nude trend; and include a number of natural, soft, neutral shades. If you're interested in seeing a sneak peak of what is to come, then keep reading!

First off, is the Essence Silky Touch Blush in 90 Summer Dreaming*. I am a massive fan of the Silky Touch Blushes - in fact, I now own 7 of these babies. This is a beautiful light peachy pink blush, which is ideal for pale skin! It's pigmented, yet not too overpowering, and just adds the perfect amount of colour into your cheeks.

Essence have reformulated, repackaged and added new colours to their line of single eyeshadows. They now have a new texture, and the design imprinted in the eyeshadow has been changed. The range includes matte, shimmery, and metallic formulas. I have the Essence Mono Eyeshadow in 15 Hazel Me Not*, which is a matte cool toned brown shade. This eyeshadow isn't overly pigmented, but does make a fantastic transition/blending shade.

Moving onto lip products, I have two of their five new nude lipsticks, which seem to be an addition to their Longlasting Lipstick range. These are the Essence Longlasting Lipstick Nude in 01 Wearing Only a Smile* and 03 Come Naturally*. Wearing Only a Smile is a very pale peachy nude, and Come Naturally is a deep mauve nude shade. These lipsticks are very creamy, but I'm not a fan of the lighter nude shade, as it makes my lips blend into the rest of my face!

I also have two of their six new nude lipglosses, the Essence XXXL Nude Lipgloss in 01 Shy Beauty* and 03 Taste the Sweets*. I had never tried any of the XXXL lipglosses before, and so far I am really liking the formula. They are glossy, non sticky, and smell amazing. Shy Beauty is a pale candy pink shade, and Taste the Sweets is a medium rosy pink.

They have also released a brand new mascara and eyeliner, the Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara* and the Essence Easy 2 Use Eyeliner Pen*. This black mascara is an second addition to their line of Lash Princess mascaras. This mascara provides great volume, curl and thickness to the lashes, but unfortunately it smudges under my eyes, so I can only use it on the top lashes. The new black eyeliner pen gives results very similar to those of the Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Liner. It is extremely precise and has a very fine brush tip, which makes eyeliner application a breeze! This is definitely a new favourite of mine.

Moving onto nails, another product following the nude trend is the Essence I Love Trends Nail Polish The Nudes in 05 Pure Soul*. This is a pretty pale beige shade, filled with micro shimmer. I haven't had a chance to wear this one yet, so I don't know what the formula is like. There is also a new range of 26 gel nail polishes, that set just like a regular nail polish, and do not use a LED or UV light that is usually required for gel polish. I have two shades, the Essence The Gel Nail Polish in 11 4 Ever Young* and 04 Our Sweetest Day*. Our Sweetest Day is a light metallic shade, and 4 Ever Young is a vibrant watermelon creme shade - swatch here. These polishes have a gel finish, and are extremely glossy. They have also released a base coat and a top coat that work in conjunction with their gel nail polishes, the Essence The Gel Nail Polish Base Coat* and the Essence The Gel Polish Top Coat*. So far I have been really liking these, as they extend my nail polish wear time and make my nails look extremely shiny. These new gel polishes are also great, as they are easy to remove with regular nail polish remover!

Summer Dreaming | Hazel Me Not | Wearing Only a Smile | Come Naturally | Shy Beauty |
Taste the Sweets | Easy 2 Use Eyeliner Pen

Overall, I have only been playing with these new releases for a few weeks, but so far I am really impressed! I can't wait for this collection to release so I can purchase some of their other new goodies, like the sponge nail polish remover and some more of the mono eyeshadows. Keep in mind that this is not a complete list of all of their new products, it is only the ones I have. If you're interest in seeing what else they will be releasing, have a quick look here.

Review ♡ The Jojoba Company Skincare

I apologise for my massive blogging hiatus over the Christmas season, but I am back today - and hopefully I'll be able to get into some sort of blogging schedule.

Today's post is a review on two products from The Jojoba Company. They are the 100% Natural Australian Jojoba, and the Hydrating Day Cream. Ever since hearing Shannon from Shaaanxo raving about The Jojoba Company, I've wanted to test out their skincare range. After trying out these two products, I now understand what all the fuss is about!

Before I get into the individual products, I just wanted to talk a bit about the brand in general. The Jojoba Company is a natural brand, which focuses on creating skincare based on pure golden jojoba. Their skin care products are free from mineral oils, parabens, artificial fragrances and colours, and contain no animal derivatives. They are also gluten and dairy free, and suitable for vegans.

Each product is packaged in a frosted glass bottle, with a pump on the top. The packaging feels luxurious and looks gorgeous sitting on top of your vanity, and the pump makes it so easy to dispense the right amount of product.

The Jojoba Company 100% Natural Jojoba* is as the name may suggest, pure jojoba oil. This stuff is absolutely fantastic. I apply this under my moisturiser at night whenever my skin is feeling dry and dull, and use it as a makeup remover for long wearing lip products such as the Australis Velourlips or Rimmel Provocalips. This oil breaks down makeup so easily, whilst moisturising the skin at the same time. When I use this all over my face, I wake up in the morning with supple, hydrated and glowing skin. For someone who has dry to normal skin like me, and often suffers from dry patches, this is a miracle product! I own the 85ml size, which retails for $29.95 AUD.

The Jojoba Company Hydrating Day Cream* is a lovely, lightweight daytime moisturiser. This moisturiser is packed full of wonderful ingredients such as green tea and olive leaf extracts, Siberian ginseng, natural silk peptides, pomegranate, beta glucan, and of course, jojoba oil. I may only recognise a handful of these ingredients, but I can tell that they all work together wonderfully to create a light, yet potent moisturiser. This provides the perfect amount of hydration, without feeling greasy and causing your makeup to slide off your face! It does not include any SPF though, so when using this you must remember to add sun protection. I have the 85ml size, which retails for $52.95 AUD.

Review & Swatches ♡ Rimmel Provocalips 16HR Lip Colour*

Hello my loves! Long time, no post!

Today's review is on a range of new lip products from Rimmel! They have recently released their Provocalips 16HR Lip Colours*. They are a two-step lip colour, with a coloured lip stain on one end, and a clear glossy top coat on the other.

They claim that "The intense, vibrant colour lasts for up to 16 hours – it’s kiss-proof, food-proof and transfer-proof, only coming off when you want it to. The non-drying, lightweight formula is ultra-comfortable to wear. Lips feel smooth and moisturised.”

The Rimmel Provocalips are packaged in a thin, plastic tube. There is a coloured end, a black section in the middle, and the other side has a white barrel with coloured lip prints. I’m not a huge fan of the lip prints, but I like how slim the packaging is.

There are 8 shades to choose from, which are all quite different from each other. The shades are #110 Dare to Pink (light peach), #200 I’ll Call You (medium rosy pink), #230 Kiss Fatal (deep almost metallic berry), #310 Little Minx (bright fuchsia), #500 Kiss Me You Fool (true red), #550 Play with Fire (dark red), #730 Make Your Move (darker peachy nude), and #700 Skinny Dipping (nude beige).

Skinny Dipping | Make Your Move | Dare to Pink | I'll Call You |
Little Minx | Kiss Me You Fool | Play with Fire | Kiss Fatal

To ensure an even colour distribution and finish, I apply the lip colour, and leave it to dry. I either apply just one coat, or apply a few coats for a richer pigmentation. After leaving it to set, I then apply the clear glossy top coat. The top coat can be reapplied throughout the day for more moisture and added shine.

Moving onto the formula, the coloured end is pigmented, and has a lovely thin consistency. As with most long wearing lip products, the Provocalips feel quite grippy on the lips. The texture is smooth and not flaky, and it only feels tacky prior to the topcoat being added. It isn't the most comfortable lip product I own, but for a long lasting product, it has quite a nice formula. They have a light, pleasant scent, which isn't overpowering.

I really like the longevity of these lip colours! They are probably the most long lasting lip products I own! They're so long lasting that they're actually a mission to remove at the end of the night! That's why I haven't included lip swatches, I don't think my lips would survive having to apply and remove all 8 of these in a short amount of time. The photo below shows the swatches after being scrubbed at with a makeup remover wipe.

The Rimmel Provocalips retail for $17.95 each, and can be purchased from Priceline, Chemist Warehouse, Kmart, Target, Big W, etc.

Overall, I'm really impressed by these! They have amazing longevity, and great pigmentation. I probably won't be using these everyday, since I prefer a more moisturising wash of colour for daily wear, but I think they're fabulous for events where you need your lip product to stay on for hours!

Review & Swatches ♡ Chi Chi Glamorous Nudes Eye Shadow Palette

Hello my loves.

Today's review is on my current holy-grail eyeshadow palette. It is the Chi Chi Glamorous Nudes Eyeshadow Palette. This palette is often said to be a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked Palette, but as I do not own that palette, I cannot compare them. What I can say though, is that this is an incredible palette!

This palette comes with 12 neutral shades, two of which are matte, whilst the rest are shimmery. The formula of these shadows is incredible, as they are all buttery smooth, pigmented, and lack fallout. These eyeshadows last all day long on my eyelids, without creasing.

The packaging of the palette isn't the best, but I do not find it to be overly flimsy or cheap looking. The eyeshadows are housed in a plastic packaging, with a black base and a clear lid. The palette also comes with two dual ended sponge tip applicators.

The Chi Chi Glamorous Nudes Palette contains 16g of product, and is manufactured in China. Chi Chi is a cruelty free company, and therefore this product is not tested on animals.

The following photos have been taken in natural lighting, with two swipes of eyeshadow, and without primer.

This palette can be purchased from Myer or Target stores in Australia for $22.95. Any international customers can purchase it off the Chi Chi website, but I will warn you that the postage fees will influence the overall price.

In conclusion, I am a huge fan of this eyeshadow palette. I use it almost every single day, and I think that for the price, the quality of the eyeshadows is impeccable! I would recommend this palette to anyone.

What's In My Shower ♡

For today's post, I decided to show you guys what's in my shower. I thought it would be a little more practical and less creepy to share my products through a blog post, rather than actually filming a video in my dimly lit bathroom.

Starting off with body washes, I'm currently alternating between the Lush Happy Hippy Shower Gel, and the Lush Sweetie Pie Jelly. The Happy Hippy Shower Gel has a strong grapefruit scent, which I am not a huge fan of, but I do find it to be very practical for cleansing my skin and also for shaving. On the other hand, the Sweetie Pie Jelly has a delicious blackberry scent, but is less practical, with a thick jelly consistency.

My favourite body scrub at the moment, is the Sanctuary Spa Body Scrub. It gently exfoliates my skin, and leaves it feeling soft and velvety smooth. If i'm being completely honest with you, the next product is one that I often forget to use. The Nivea In-Shower Rich Body Lotion Skin Conditioner is a moisturising product that is designed to be used whilst showering. I am often too lazy to use it, and i'm also not too keen on the slippery residue that it leaves.

Another shower essential is the Gilette Venus Embrace Razor. I'm not too picky when it comes to razors, but I do like that this one has five blades, and gives a very close shave.

For haircare products, at the moment I am switching between the TRESemmé Keratin Infusing Shampoo and Conditioner, and the Unico Formulations Volumising Shampoo and Conditioner*. I like to regularly switch up my shampoo and conditioner. If my hair is feeling dry and unmanageable, I like to use the TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Collection, as I find that it does an amazing job at making my hair feel silky smooth and nourished. If my hair is looking flat and limp, I like to use the Unico Formulations Volumising range, as it gives my hair extra volume, and since they are clarifying products, they also help to remove product build up in my hair.

Ever since running out of my discontinued Nude by Nature Cleanser, i've been using the Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Facial Cleanser. This is a lovely gentle cleanser with a gel formula. I find that it does an amazing job of removing makeup and cleaning my face, whilst still remaining gentle.
Another product can always be found in my shower, is the Simple Kind to Skin Smoothing Facial Scrub. This is an extremely gentle, yet effective scrub. I use this once a week to exfoliate my face, and it does an amazing job. It is definitely a must have for anyone who has sensitive skin.

I hope you guys have enjoyed having a snoop into my shower! What are your must-have shower products?

Top 5 Winter Skincare Picks

As we are currently in the midst of winter here in the Southern Hemisphere, I decided that I would share a few of my favourite skincare products with you. As the weather has gotten colder, my skin has started to dry out and become more sensitive. These are the products that I have been using recently to help combat the dryness of my skin.

Beauty Essentials Smooth Night Cream is a lovely rich, overnight moisturiser. It is enriched with Evening Primrose Oils and Wheat Germ. This night cream is fairly thick, and once applied, makes my skin feel extremely soft and nourished. When I wake up about 10+ hours after applying this and my rosehip oil, my skin still feels hydrated and smooth!

Bioré Nourish Moisture Lotion is my all time favourite day time moisturiser. This moisturiser is so lightweight, but still remains hydrating and nourishing. It gives my skin the most lovely glow, which is greatly appreciated due to the dryness of my skin. It also contains a SPF of 15, which helps to protect my skin from the sun - which is still around, even in winter!

ECO. Certified Organic Pure Rosehip Oil* has been helping to brighten and hydrate my skin. I mix this rosehip oil in with my moisturiser, and apply it at night time. Being rich in vitamin C and essential fatty acids, it has effective hydrating, healing and regenerating properties.

NAT. IBR Snowflake Eye Cream* is an eye cream that is enriched with 'IBR Snowflake'. I have been applying it morning and night. This eye cream is described as being a "botox alternative" treatment, and since i've started using it, I have noticed that my under eyes are much more hydrated and less puffy.

Nude by Nature Super Anti-Oxidant Foaming Cleanser (discontinued) is my current favourite cleanser. I regularly use the Bioré Combination Skin Cleanser, but I have found that it is too harsh for my skin during the colder months. I decided to give it this cleanser another go, and I have fallen in love with it! It is a gel formula, which foams up slightly, and gives my skin a deep cleanse, whilst remaining gentle on the skin. Unfortunately I have heard that this cleanser has been discontinued, so I am on the look out for a new gentle cleanser.

Those are my favourite products to combat dry skin in the winter months. If you have a similar skin type to me, i'd love to hear about your favourite products. A girl can never have too many skincare products, right?!

Review & Swatches ♡ Maybelline SuperStay 24hr Concealer

Hello my loves!

Today's review is on the Maybelline SuperStay 24hr Concealer. This was the first concealer that I ever purchased, when I was about 15 years old. Since i've been using this concealer for so long, I decided it was about time for me to post a review on it!

This concealer is said to last for 24 hours without transferring, whilst providing natural-looking coverage to help conceal undereye darkness, imperfections and flaws.

The texture is very thick and creamy, and quite drying. I find it to be too heavy and prone to creasing if used on my under eye area, but I do like it for concealing face blemishes. The formula sets very fast, and I find it to be quite difficult to completely blend in.

This concealer is so pigmented, and has amazing coverage! Also, I do have to agree with it being long lasting. I never wear my makeup for 24 hours straight, so I can't test that claim, but I can say that it lasts all day long on my skin.

I'm not exactly impressed by the shade range of this concealer. There are only three shades available in Australia; Ivory, Cream, and Deep Beige. I own the shade Ivory, which is the perfect colour for extremely pale skin tones (like me!). I am so happy to find a concealer range that has such a pale shade, but unfortunately they only cater to pale to medium skin tones, so darker-skinned girls will have to miss out on this one.

The packaging of this concealer is nice, but nothing extravagant. It has a clear plastic bottle, with a white lid. The concealer is applied with a doe foot applicator.

The Maybelline SuperStay 24hr Concealer is widely available in drugstores/chemists around Australia. It retails at $14.95 for 5.5ml of product.

Overall, I do enjoy using this concealer. I would recommend it to any fair-skinned beauties looking for a blemish or face concealer. It is intensely pigmented, has great coverage, and lasts all day long.
