Review & Swatches ♡ Rimmel Provocalips 16HR Lip Colour*

Hello my loves! Long time, no post!

Today's review is on a range of new lip products from Rimmel! They have recently released their Provocalips 16HR Lip Colours*. They are a two-step lip colour, with a coloured lip stain on one end, and a clear glossy top coat on the other.

They claim that "The intense, vibrant colour lasts for up to 16 hours – it’s kiss-proof, food-proof and transfer-proof, only coming off when you want it to. The non-drying, lightweight formula is ultra-comfortable to wear. Lips feel smooth and moisturised.”

The Rimmel Provocalips are packaged in a thin, plastic tube. There is a coloured end, a black section in the middle, and the other side has a white barrel with coloured lip prints. I’m not a huge fan of the lip prints, but I like how slim the packaging is.

There are 8 shades to choose from, which are all quite different from each other. The shades are #110 Dare to Pink (light peach), #200 I’ll Call You (medium rosy pink), #230 Kiss Fatal (deep almost metallic berry), #310 Little Minx (bright fuchsia), #500 Kiss Me You Fool (true red), #550 Play with Fire (dark red), #730 Make Your Move (darker peachy nude), and #700 Skinny Dipping (nude beige).

Little Minx | Kiss Me You Fool | Play with Fire | Kiss Fatal

To ensure an even colour distribution and finish, I apply the lip colour, and leave it to dry. I either apply just one coat, or apply a few coats for a richer pigmentation. After leaving it to set, I then apply the clear glossy top coat. The top coat can be reapplied throughout the day for more moisture and added shine.

Moving onto the formula, the coloured end is pigmented, and has a lovely thin consistency. As with most long wearing lip products, the Provocalips feel quite grippy on the lips. The texture is smooth and not flaky, and it only feels tacky prior to the topcoat being added. It isn't the most comfortable lip product I own, but for a long lasting product, it has quite a nice formula. They have a light, pleasant scent, which isn't overpowering.

I really like the longevity of these lip colours! They are probably the most long lasting lip products I own! They're so long lasting that they're actually a mission to remove at the end of the night! That's why I haven't included lip swatches, I don't think my lips would survive having to apply and remove all 8 of these in a short amount of time. The photo below shows the swatches after being scrubbed at with a makeup remover wipe.

The Rimmel Provocalips retail for $17.95 each, and can be purchased from Priceline, Chemist Warehouse, Kmart, Target, Big W, etc.

Overall, I'm really impressed by these! They have amazing longevity, and great pigmentation. I probably won't be using these everyday, since I prefer a more moisturising wash of colour for daily wear, but I think they're fabulous for events where you need your lip product to stay on for hours!

Top 5 Spring Lipsticks ♡

It's currently Spring here in Australia, and I have been using this change in weather to inspire me to play with some different lipstick colours. Throughout the past few months, I have been loving more of the pink and peachy shades of lipstick, and I thought I would share them with you.

Maybelline Color Whisper in 'Pink Possibilities'

This Maybelline Color Whisper has to be one of my favourite pink lipstick shades. It is a medium pink bubblegum shade, with a very moisturising formula. If you're looking for an extremely pigmented and longwearing lipstick, than this isn't it. It is lightly pigmented, and has a glossy formula (not great wearing time). I don't really mind that this doesn't have the best lasting power, as I enjoy whipping its cute packaging out whilst in public to reapply. I love this lipstick for those days where you just want a bright lip that's easy to slap on.

Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick in '16'

This Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss Lipstick is one of the most gorgeous peachy pink shades of lipstick that I own. It is opaque, and has a slightly creamy finish (not matte). This has to be one of my favourite lipsticks for everyday use, as it compliments a vast array of eye looks, and I love the way that it looks with my skin colour.

Australis Colour Inject Mineral Lipstick in 'Hula'

I have to mention the Australis Colour Inject Mineral Lipstick in Hula. This is a lovely coral/orange shade, with a creamy but pigmented formula. I love to wear this lipstick on days where I just want a neutral lip that is no fuss, and easy to apply on the go. The downside to this lipstick is that it was limited edition, and no longer sold in stores. I actually bought mine from a little bin in Priceline marked down to $3. I'm sure you can find it online somewhere though.

Essence Lipstick in 'All About Cupcake'

This lipstick is a gorgeous coral pink shade. I would have to say that the formula is more similar to that of a lip butter or tinted lip balm, as it is quite shiny and slightly sheer - though it can be built up to be more opaque. I love the colour of this lipstick, especially for spring time. I find that it just suits a lot of different makeup looks, and I tend to find this floating around my handbag on days out on the town. The one disappointing thing about this product is the packaging, as it is made out of coloured plastic which can be broken easily, and the actual lipstick rises out above the tube - which makes it very easy to gauge when putting the cap back on. But for the tiny price tag of $4 AUD, this product is fantastic!

Sportsgirl Pout About It Lipcolour in 'Beauty Queen'

This is a lovely cool-toned nude pink shade, with hints of purple. It has an extremely glossy finish, which isn't very long-lasting, but since it is such a lovely colour, I can forgive this. The packaging of this lipstick is quite cheaply made, with a flimsy plastic lid (which I have already cracked). I find this is the perfect lipstick for days where i'm rocking a dark eye look, as it just gives a lovely shiny, wash of light-pink to the lips.

L-R: Pink Possibilities, 16, Hula, All About Cupcake, Beauty Queen.

As you can probably tell, my favourite lip colours for Spring are definitely peaches and pinks. If you know of any similar colours that you think I would enjoy, please leave them down below. And also feel free to let me know what lipsticks you are currently loving - no matter if you're currently in spring or autumn.
